The Beginners Chord Library
I didn’t do much new on the practise front tonight. I just worked on my
long progression and the F Chord. I did create a new page detailing the chords beginners should learn first.
Open Position Major and Minor Chords
Hopefully I will have something new to show you tomorrow!

Finger Stretching and the F Chord
Tonight I focused on my most hated chord. The dreaded F! It’s only really hard because I’ve chosen the semi bar chord way of holding it.
First finger on the B string/C note/1st fret and high E string/F note/1st fret
Second finger on the G string/A note/2nd Fret
Third finger on the D string/F note/3rd fret
Before I practise [...]
Long Chord Progression
Today I worked on a basic
chord progression. What I mean by basic is that it doesn’t contain any truly difficult chord changes (in my case F to anything or anything to F.)

Bon Jovi
Ok, I admit it, I have to slightly eat my words. Bon Jovi at Twickenham stadium was pretty fun, if only for the 80s flashback. Much too tired to practise tonight, so I will leave you with this.
Back to work tomorrow

A walk on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?
I really need to learn to play this song one day. For my own sanity. I had to listen to it three times on the way home from work… and then one more time when I got home. On the [...]
My Vintage V300
Today I practised a few chord changes utilising the cluster and shared finger principles and played the one piece of (dare I call it music) that I’ve managed to sort of play so far, but first I want to talk a little bit about my guitar.
It’s a Vintage V300 made by John Hornby Skewes and [...]

My current skill level, patently obvious to all who have a modicum of musical appreciation and as you will see and hear from the video [...]
